About Me

I grew up in Manchester and have been living in Oxfordshire for the past 12 years. While growing up, I watched my mother enjoy painting in her spare time - I have found that art brings me the same joy. We also made annual trips to India to visit family during my childhood (and beyond). I developed my love of colour and texture from observing the striking colours found in the most unexpected of places and the natural textures in architecture and fabrics. I enjoy the freedom and creativity of painting as a contrast to my day job as an academic and it gives me a space to express the observations I make about our environments and us as humans.

I work using oils, acrylics, pastels and photography. I am often inspired my the natural world, using colour and texture to convey what I see and feel. In portraits I aim to capture a moment that reflects that person. My street photography captures the beauty and strangeness of our everyday society.
